Detour is a family-friendly restaurant just steps off the Monon Trail featuring made from scratch menu items, thirty-seven 50" HD flat screen TVs, outdoor patio dining, and nightly live entertainment. Located in Carmel’s Arts & Design District, conveniently near art galleries, shops, the Indiana Design Center, and the Center for the Performing Arts, Detour-An American Grille is a welcome addition to the northside neighborhood.

Detour is exactly that, a Detour from your day, no matter what kind of day you are having. Detour features a casual all-ages, made from scratch menu with an impressive bottled and draft beer offering.

Our menu is not for the faint of heart.

Take a “detour” from your routine, and stop in for a signature “Triple Bypass” - a 30 inch, 2 lb Italian Beef sandwich, topped with onions and peppers, served with Au Jus. (Finish it in 45 minutes or less and get your name on our Bypass Wall of Fame and printed in our menu for local bragging rights!)

Whether you are craving new twists on old favorites or something a little different, we have you covered. In one sitting you can enjoy a caprese flatbread sandwich, seared ahi tuna, or fried dill chips or chicken wings slathered in your favorite sauce.
